Joh, Jenny and I are all avid motorsport fans, belonging to the Marlborough Car Club.

Yesterday was the Taylor Pass Rallysprint, at which I was doing the results using the notebook computer. I took the opportunity to shoot some video, as much as a test for the digital camera as for any other purpose. The result, bumbling commentary aside, was not too bad. You judge...

You can watch the larger version <here> (broadband only) or a smaller version that might work on dial-up <here>.

My little Mazda 12th August 2001 after the Pukaka gravel sprint.

John Pierson had a ‘mini moke’ for a period, it was extremely competitive but hard to control and prone to failure. It’s parked at Dad’s place in Weld Street in these shots.

It was rather competitive, as is it’s driver. These shots were taken at an Autocross at the Car Club grounds in Omaka, around 28th September 2001.

I had named this shot ‘Just Missed”.....

This is Dean Schroder, also known as “Hoove”, at the same Autocross. Dean had a heavily-modified Toyota Celica at that time. I had the joy of going round the track with him, as a passenger. Lots of fun.
